Hampshire Scout Hero Award
The Hampshire Hero Award celebrates young people who go above and beyond to live the true values of Scouting. This award recognises exceptional actions that make a meaningful difference to others – especially those moments that fall outside the scope of existing badges or awards.
A Hampshire Hero might be someone who has:
• Shown exceptional kindness by supporting someone in need or stepping forward when others didn’t.
• Led or created a community‑focused initiative that has had a positive impact on local people.
• Demonstrated courage or compassion in a challenging situation.
• Gone above and beyond in a way that reflects the very best of Scouting values.
This award was inspired by Seth from 6th Gosport Air Scouts, whose independent Christmas project collected gifts and books for children spending the holidays in hospital. His efforts reached around 50 families and set the gold standard for what it means to be a Hampshire Hero: thoughtful, proactive, and driven by kindness.
