What is the Event?

This is an Adventure and Pirate themed camp for Squirrel to Scout Sections. This event will be Queue and Do style with zones sorted by age and type of activity. Groups will camp together in district areas, and take part in day time and evening activities with their sections. It will be a great opportunity for young people to work with others and take part in fun activities.

  • Weekend ticket (Friday night to Sunday afternoon) – £65
  • One Night ticket (Saturday morning to Sunday afternoon) – £60 (Available to Squirrels and Beavers only)
  • Day ticket (Saturday only) – £40 (Available to Squirrels and Beavers only)
  • Volunteers, Young Leaders and adult leaders – Free

What is included?

All activities day and night, campsite and overnight fees. We will additionally include a badge and a wristband.

Note Deposits are not refundable from payment and no refunds will be made after the 20th April.

Camping

There will be 2 main camping areas onsite. The first is Campsite Jack Sparrow, which is located near the site’s main entrance, in what YMCA calls “Family Park” – 70% of groups will camp here, and there will be a dedicated info base to ask questions and seek help on the camping field.

The other will be Campsite Hook, on YMCA’s main field, camping will be located by the Sportshall, Eco, Copse and Campfire campsite. This area will also contain the main activity areas as well as “The Bridge”, the main operations hub that will be available for questions and information throughout the event. Groups will camp in district areas and we strongly encourage groups to work together.

Programme

There will be a nonstop programme throughout the event, with activities running all day on Saturday and on Sunday morning. Activities will be split into four main day-time zones that will be timetabled.

Sections will be split into sub-groups and move between the timetabled zones throughout the event. Once at their timetabled zone, all activities will follow a queue-and-do system.

Activities may include:

  • Archery
  • Tomahawks
  • Inflatables
  • Climbing and High Ropes
  • Creative zones
  • And many more!

In addition to the day-time programme, there will also be evening activities available on Friday and Saturday evening.
