WHO??
Fantastic leaders, you, your friends, any Explorer/ Network  aged 16-19 ( DOB between 01.09.2007 and 31.08.2011) who is prepared to give it a go (if they are not already a Scout then they had better join soon).

Small print warning this trip could seriously change your outlook on life

How do we get there? Fundraising and Training

Lots of fund raising is a key part of the adventure. You should fundraise a minimum of £1,000, from whatever source works best - sponsored cycle, charity events, car washing.

Please note this is a Scout Expedition. It is not a holiday. It will be challenging but very rewarding. The training is an important part of the expedition package and Explorers should prioritise it and make every effort to attend the training events. There are lots happening to prepare you for Africa:

Suisse Adventure 2027 is about to launch. Staying in Kandersteg International Scout Centre in Switzerland, and open to all young people aged 14 to 25 in August 2027, this will be an Adventure you will never forget.

If you already know you're interested, you can register your interest using the form below.

Be prepared to find out more

The Suisse team will be holding a number of roadshows around Hampshire in January and early February ahead of opening the system for deposit payments in mid February.

These will give Explorers and Parents a chance to discover more about the expedition, about the centre at Kandersteg, and ask any questions before deciding whether to sign up and pay the deposit. The sessions will last about an hour.

The roadshows are located at various locations around Hampshire, but feel free to turn up to any one you can attend. It does not have to be your local one.

The Roadshows

The journey begins

From mid February, applications and deposits for the trip will open. A unique payment reference and how to pay will be sent to everyone who has expressed an interest to attend using the form below:

You can register your interest at a roadshow, but you will not be able to formally apply to attend and pay unless you register interest using the form as well.

Happy adventuring and we look forward to seeing so many of you soon!

It’s six years since the team at Bramshill Scouts made an autumn half-term trip to Belgium and France so the time has come for another visit with a new group of Scouts and Explorers.

This time, there are still some spaces on the coach. Join them between the 30th October and 3rd November on this remembrance trip to Ypres.

Those interested should drop the Bramshill District Lead Volunteer an email for further information – [email protected]

A full schedule

On the journey from Calais, the expedition hope to have time to stop at Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, where a hospital had been located and pay our respects to the 33 former Scouts who lie there.

On our first evening in Ypres, we will parade our flags at the Last Post Ceremony at Menin Gate and lay a wreath. More than 140 former Scouts are commemorated on the memorial.

Image from 2023, when Hampshire Scouts visited the Menin Gate.

Our trip will include visits to Essex Farm Cemetery, the Passchendaele Museum and trench system, and then a cross-country walk to Tyne Cot Military Cemetery. This is the largest Commonwealth war graves cemetery, where we will have a battlefield guide help our young people learn as much as possible about the history and relevance of the site’s location. More than 115 former Scouts are buried or commemorated here. We’ll also visit the German Military Cemetery of Langemark.

Friday 1st November is a public holiday in Belgium, and the Ypres Scout Group is visiting us and we’ll entertain them with some ‘English’ games like ‘Shove-halfpenny’, dominoes and tiddly winks! Afterwards we’ll take a meal together and have a badge swap.

On Saturday we are heading down into France to visit Vimy Ridge, where there are memorials to the Canadian troops who fought alongside us in WWI and a visitor centre.

On the return trip we will visit the town of Poperinge, an important staging post and rest area in WWI. We will explore the town and its association with the men who were ‘shot at dawn’.

We'll be updating this page throughout the course of Suisse Adventure 2022 with pictures, copies of the Suisse Adventure Roundup and any other updates from each day.

Saturday 6th August

We are now launching applications for both Participants and Leaders for the 25th World Scout Jamboree in Korea in 2023!

All the information is live on the Hampshire Scouts Jamboree website:

We have produced a lot of help and information on the website, as well as the application process (which includes online forms, paper forms and video applications).

Focus on Inclusion

The Scouts have set a major focus on inclusion, and we have listened to this in Hampshire.

All Scouts, Explorers and Leaders that fall in the correct age ranges, are invited to apply for a place on the Jamboree.

To help with financial inclusion, the Hampshire Scouts Board of Trustees have set up a major Grant Fund, that can give grants of up to 50% for participants and leaders (depending on financial circumstances).

These grants (coupled with grants from Groups and Districts and some fundraising efforts), should mean that any Scout, Explorer or Leader should be able to afford to take part, even if normally they wouldn't expect to be able to.

Please can we ask you to share the launch around your Scout Groups, Explorer Units and Leaders, to ensure that everybody is aware of the Jamboree, how to apply, and the availability of grants.

Our aim is that EVERY Scout, Explorer and Leader in Hampshire knows about the Jamboree, and that it is open to all.

Hampshire Scouts is in the early days of working on its participation in the 25th World Scout Jamboree in South Korea, in August 2023!

As in previous years, we are also in the early days of the alternative expedition that Hampshire Scouts runs alongside of the World Scout Jamboree, which currently has the working title of "Project 23".

We have had a number of people inquire about these, so we have set up a form to capture "Expressions of Interest" as either a participant, or as an Adult Volunteer. This includes just receiving information, to enable you to pass on to others.

If you were born after 1st August 2005, then you can register an interest to apply as a participant for the 25th World Scout Jamboree.

If you were born on 1st August 2005 or before, then you can register an interest to apply as either;

As information then emerges over the next few months, and application process open, we will then automatically send you the information directly.

If you have any questions, please get in touch with us by dropping an email to [email protected]

We have 4 amazing International opportunities coming up for 2021. These opportunities cover Older Scouts, Explorer Scouts, Young Leaders, Scout Network and adult volunteers.

We have tried to put them side by side below, so that you can easily compare these.

But, don't take long, as closing dates across all four are over the next 4 weeks or so (and are also only available until they fill up).

If you have any further questions, please E-mail the ACC (International) Jools Sore on [email protected].
