SUMMARY:County Explorer Kudu Night Hike competition
DESCRIPTION:The County Kudu is an overnight hike aimed at Hampshire Explorer Scouts. Teams of 4-8 hike through the night completing challenges. \n\nWhen? Sat/Sun 14/15 November 2026. Teams arrive between 5 & 8pm on Saturday evening and depart before 10am Sunday. \n\nWhere? Vernam Dean\, nr Andover \n\nCost – £10 per person \n\nCompetitions – Bronze – 10km\, Silver – 14km & Gold 18km . SUMMARY:Outdoor First Aid (SCQF Level 6)
DESCRIPTION:We have an exciting opportunity coming up for anyone who works\, volunteers\, or spends time in rural or remote outdoor environments. We are running a fully regulated Outdoor First Aid (SCQF Level 6) qualification\, designed for situations where help may be more than 30 minutes away. \n\nThis two‑day course is ideal for outdoor leaders\, instructors\, DofE supervisors\, Scout volunteers\, and anyone who wants to feel confident managing incidents in challenging terrain. Training is highly practical and includes managing collapse\, choking\, bleeding\, shock\, major illnesses\, limb and torso injuries\, environmental effects\, prolonged casualty care\, and outdoor incident management. You’ll also cover outdoor‑specific decisions such as when to remove boots or helmets and how to look after a casualty for several hours. \n\nCourse details: \n– Dates: Saturday 14 – Sunday 15 November 2026 (Also Kudu) \n– Time: 09:00–17:30 each day \n– Venue: Diamond Scout Centre\, Southdown Road\, Tadley\, RG26 4BS \n\nThis qualification is recognised across the UK and is the course of choice for experienced outdoor practitioners.
